Telecommunications

Water blocking gels and greases used as filling or flooding compounds in both fiber and copper cables.

Telecommunications cables come in many shapes and sizes but whether it is fiber or copper most require a water blocking component.  Info-Gel started by providing gels to fiber optic cable companies that not only provide a "no water migration" solution, but also provide a "floating" protection for the fiber.

Info-Gel's Hydro DefenderTM series of standard water blocking solutions have evolved since we first started, but still provide unparalleled protection.  Whether it is on a standard PBT tube or more challenging PE or PP tube, we have a proven solution that will stand up to your toughest challenges.

Information
Information
K550 is suitable for filling and/or flooding optical fiber cables. K550 is a synthetic gel primarily used in loose tube and ribbon cables and compatible with all polymers and used mostly with polypropylene (PP). The extreme temperature range effectiveness of this product and its higher critical yield stress makes it the best in the world for all tube types and applications.
Information
K880 is a gel primarily used in loose tube fiber optic cables with tubes manufactured with polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). The lower viscosity allows this gel to be pumped at higher line speeds and still manage a very high fill rate. Very effective at colder temperatures.
Information
LA444 is used in loose tube fiber optic applications utilizing polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) for tube manufacturing. It has shown to have an extraordinary drip and burn test performance, as well as cold temperature effectiveness.

EXTENDED THERMOPLASTIC RUBBER

ETPR- A thermoplastic material that is solid at room temperature with a significant drop in viscosity as the temperature gets above 90°C to enable processing while also possessing high dielectric strength.

FC28
Information
An ETPR-type thermoplastic rubber used in flooding applications for copper and/or aluminum cables. The standard version has a drop point of 90°C and will be a solid below this temperature and a liquid above it.

FLAME DEFENDER™ FLAME RETARDANT

Gel capable of self-extinguishing in <10 seconds when exposed to intense flames that can be a critical component in meeting Riser or Plenum ratings for cables.
Flame Defender™ Flame Retardant

Information
Information
FR27 is a flame retardant gel for filling and/or flooding power, optical, and hybrid cables. This particular flame retardant product provides added benefit against migration or “leaching” into polyethylene jackets as it is produced with a synthetic base, lower viscosity, and can be cold pumped.

WEIGHT DEFENDER™ LOW DENSITY

Gels created with a lower than standard density reducing weight, improving di-electric strength, and allowing less gel to be used for the same cable length.
Weight DefenderTM Low Density

Information
Information
LD345 is a low-density compound suitable for filling and/or flooding loose tube type cables using a PBT jacket. It has very good di-electric properties and is commonly used on copper, twisted copper pair, and low to medium voltage cables. Additionally it can be used in fiber optic cables to reduce the weight and the amount of gel used and is popular for ADSS types of cables where weight is a primary concern.

Information
Good for PE/PP/PBT cables and reduced density by 25% to (0.65 g/cm³) over a traditional gel while keeping a low viscosity.

Wire Lubricants

Various viscosity lubricants that can be tailor made for production processes that keep wires corrosion free while reducing the friction co-efficient to help protect cables and wires from mechanical damage.
